First International Football Tournament "Playas de Cartaya y Punta Unbría" (Results)
Monday 4th February, inaugurated the First International Football Tournament "Playas de Cartaya y Punta Umbría" in the province of Huelva.
The tournament was disputed by the Wisla Krakow (Poland), NK Interblock (Slovenia), CSKA of Sofía (Bulgaria), and FC Khimki (Russia).
Each one of these teams counts on great players and are teams that fight each year for the League title in their respective countries as well as being habitual participants in international competitions such as the Champions League and the UEFA Cup.
The tournament was well disputed and even up until the last minute it was unclear who would carry the trophy home. Finally the tournament was won by FC Khimki who overcame NK Interblock in an exciting finish in the last game.
Pawel Brozec from Wisla Krakow won the trophy for the highest goal scorer and the goalkeeper who took the least goals was awarded to the goal keeper of CSKA Sofia.
Thanks to the great contribution on the part of the Cartaya and Punta Umbría Town Halls and for their involvement in this tournament and the excellent pitches and the superb conditions for this tournament.
