The European Week of Sport arrived in La Nucía the week of September 23rd and will end tomorrow, September 30th. It is an initiative of the European Commission to fight against sedentary lifestyles.
The organisation invites the municipalities participating in this initiative to make a 1’30” video showing their sports facilities, their attractiveness and their environment.
In La Nucía they have made this beautiful video. And the fact is that the town has many sporting options. Among them are the training camps that collaborate with Marbella Football Center, where top level teams come for training camps, as SD Eibar or Al Wahda (United Arab Emirates) did recently.
Matches are also played at the Camilo Cano Stadium, such as the ones that took place recently: RCD Mallorca – FC Cartagena, UD Ibiza – RCD Mallorca or SD Eibar – CF La Nucía.
The importance of sports tourism is growing and La Nucía is one of the key points at European level for its training conditions, but also for its exceptional climate and its first class facilities. Thanks to this, the arrival of national and foreign teams is constantly increasing.

The good weather in the area allows the teams to carry out numerous outdoor activities and enjoy their stay in Spain.
Rayo Vallecano de Madrid SAD are fifth in LaLiga Santander. In 7 games so far in the championship, the team coached by Andoni Iraola has 13 points out of a possible 21.
Four wins, one draw and two defeats are the record of our friends, who visited us this summer to prepare for the start of the championship.
With the arrival of Falcao (3 goals), the good moment of Álvaro García (3 goals) and other players like Isi, the Madrid team is enjoying a sweet moment.
In just 7 games, they have already taken a third of the points they need to secure their place in the first division.
Next Saturday, the team will visit El Sadar, where it will face to Osasuna with the intention of continuing this great run. From the Costa del Sol we will be keeping an eye on our friends from Vallecas, to whom we wish the best of luck.
After their work on the Costa del Sol with Marbella Football Center, the Russian U-16 national team leaves Spanish soil. The team has been gathered for 9 days in Estepona with MFC.
The training camps in Atalaya have been used by the young stars to prepare themselves. Not only physical preparation, but also mental preparation and strengthening the relations between the team members.
This type of training camp really helps the teams to grow. Especially at this age when they are so close to making the leap to the professional world.
In addition to their training and group work, the Russian national team has been able to play two friendly matches against Spain. The first on the 21st, with a 0-1 victory and on the 23rd, before leaving, which ended in a 3-0 defeat.
The Spanish U16 national team finished its training camp on the Costa del Sol. The Spanish team leaves Marbella Football Center after a 4-day training camp during which they have played 2 friendly matches against Russia.
After losing the match on Tuesday 21st by 0-1, David Gordo’s men have played a better match today. They won 3-0 against the Russian team.
It was the first time that these boys wore “the red”. The U-15 team is the first, but last year, this generation could not debut with the Spanish national team because of the pandemic.
These 4 days have been a dream for some boys who aspire to the maximum and who promise to be the stars of the coming years. Now they have to keep working to become what they could be. From MFC we will keep track of these young talents.
The Russia U-16 national team continues its preparation on the Costa del Sol. The Russian team is performing a 9-day training camp with Marbella Football Center. They are training at the facilities of Atalaya Football Fields. They arrived last 16th and will stay until the 24th.

Yesterday the team played against the Spanish national team, which is training at the Marbella Football Center. The match, very hard fought, ended with a 0-1 result in favour of Russia, with a solitary goal in the first half.
