The Norwegian national team continues its training plan on the Costa del Sol. The team, led by Stale Solbakken, is preparing the qualifying matches for the World Cup in Marbella.
Yesterday the team faced the Gibraltar team, which they beat by 0-3, with goals by Sorloth, Thorstvedt and Svensson.
The Scandinavians have been training on the Costa del Sol since last Friday. Although some of the more prominent players, such as Haaland and Odegaard, came later.
Today the team will continue working on the lawn of Marbella Football Center, with their mind set on Saturday’s game, when they will face Turkey. With La Rosaleda as a witness, the Norwegian team will try to achieve victory against this important rival.
The Norwegian national team works out at Marbella Football Center. Since its arrival on the Costa del Sol last Friday, the team has been working in the shelter of the good weather in Marbella.
Although the team worked for the first time last Friday, two of its stars (Haaland and Odegaard) did not arrive until Monday, when they exercised for the first time. It is not the first time for these two players with Football Impact.
They both know our work, since they have visited us before with the lower categories of the Norwegian team or with Borussia Dortmund. In fact Haaland played his first friendly match with Borussia at Marbella Football Center.
Today the team will face the Gibraltar national team in qualifying for the World Cup. Next Saturday they will have a tougher rival, the Turkish national team. The duel will be played at the La Rosaleda stadium, where we can see the Norwegian media giant.
Haaland’s projection in recent years has been meteoric. At just 20 years old, all the clubs in the world are fighting over him. He also has already scored 20 goals in the Champions League, in just 14 games, almost 1.5 goals per game.
Marbella Football Center manages the stay and match of the Norwegian national team on the Costa del Sol.
On the occasion of this great news, Marbella Football Center organised a presentation of the arrival of the Norwegian national team at the Carmen Thyssen Museum in Malaga. The event was attended by various authorities such as the Mayor of Málaga Francisco de la Torre, José María Arrabal (Junta de Andalucía), Rune Pederssen (Norwegian Football Federation), Margarita del Cid (Turismo Costa del Sol ).
Next Saturday 27th March, Malaga and its stadium La Rosaleda, will host the international match between the Norwegian national team and the Turkish national team, an official qualifying match for the World Cup Qatar 2022.
The Norwegian national team has chosen the Costa del Sol as the venue for this international break. The circumstances of pandemic and restrictions in the Norwegian country, have given the opportunity to our city to host this important meeting.
Coinciding with the fact that the Norwegian national team will play another match on the 24th as visitors against the national team of Gibraltar, Marbella Football Center proposed to the Norwegian Federation to play their qualifying match against Turkey at La Rosaleda stadium.
Thus, the Norwegian national team will be concentrated in the facilities of Marbella Football Center from the 19th of March; next 24th they will play in Gibraltar and the 27th will be the match in Malaga, Norway vs Turkey.
The match will be the second match of the qualifying phase for the World Cup Qatar 2022. In a group G made up of the Netherlands, Gibraltar, Latvia, Montenegro, Turkey and Norway.
Norwegian football knows the Costa del Sol to perfection and most of the country’s first and second division teams are concentrated in our province every season. The Marbella Football Center facilities are already known by the Norwegian Football Federation with the arrival of youth teams in recent years.
Marbella Football Center, together with our organising agency Football Impact, is a reference in football in concentrations and pre-season stages of professional football teams that choose our province when preparing for their leagues or important matches, as is the case of the Norwegian senior national team.
With several high performance centres for football in the province of Malaga, the Costa del Sol has become the preferred destination when it comes to organising their pre-season training camps, making use of the wide range of hotels and the good climate.
This meeting has even more media relevance, as its star, Erling Haaland, is the most outstanding striker in the world at the moment and a target for big clubs. A team made up of other great players such as Martin Odegaard.
Marbella Football Center, La Rosaleda and Málaga will be the home of the Norwegian national team.
After this week’s second leg of the Champions League and the Europa League, 5 are the friends of Football Impact who will be among the 8 best in each competition.
In the Champions League we have 2 of our friends: Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund. The English, champions in 2019, will face Real Madrid. The Germans, meanwhile, will have to face Manchester City.
Those from Anfield had it some easy in the round of 16 against RB Leipzig, while those from Westphalia suffered to overtake Sevilla FC, another friend of Football Impact.
In the Europa League we found 3 friends from Football Impact: Manchester United, Granada CF and SK Slavia Praha. The English and Andalusians will face each other, while the Czechs will face Arsenal.
Granada passed after a difficult confrontation with Molde, also a club friend of FI. It was also difficult for Manchester, which suffered to eliminate AC Milan. Slavia had a difficult time in the first leg, but solved easily in the second leg.
Pedro González López, better known as Pedri, is the latest jewel in international football. The player from Tenerife has become essential in his first season at FC Barcelona.
Last November, we had the opportunity to see this star training at the Marbella Football Center facilities. He then visited Marbella with the Spain U21 team, while now he has been selected by Luis Enrique for the senior team.
Despite his 18 years, the young Canarian talent has made a place for himself at FC Barcelona as soon as he landed in Barcelona. With a surprising and dynamic style of play, many already compare him to legends like Iniesta.
A player with that self-confidence is not remembered, nor that vision of the game
from such a young age. Pedri is making fans of Barça and the Spanish team dream.

Marbella Football Center and Football Impact have become references for Norwegian football in recent years. Most of the clubs in the Eliteserien (first division) and the OBOS-ligaen (second division) are friends of MFC and FI.
This year, due to the pandemic, the number of clubs has dropped a lot, but normally more than 80% of these clubs perform the Winter Break with Football Impact.
In 2021 we have only had the stays of the 2020 and 2019 champions. While FK Bodo/Glimt has opted for MFC, Molde FK has performed 2 stages in Benidorm and is now carring out another in Marbella.
MFC and FI’s relationship with Norwegian football is strong. In fact, the Norwegian Football Association also trusts us. In recent years we have received the visit of the women’s team, as well as the youth teams.
On the other hand, the Norwegian arbitration group has also carried out stages in Marbella. During this time they have taken the opportunity to prepare physically, referee matches organized by Football Impact and continue their training.
Molde FK, current runner-up and champion of 2019 in the first division of Norwegian football, arrives to the Costa del Sol. After the round of 16 match of the Europa League, the club has decided to continue its preparation in Marbella.
The Scandinavians carry out with this their third stage of 2021 with Football Impact. After the 2 stages held at Meliá Villaitana Football Center, now it is Marbella Football Center’s turn.
The team will work in the next few days at the MFC facilities, coinciding with FK Bodo/Glimt, the 2020 Norwegian champion. Every year they usually prepare for the start of the Eliteserien, but this year they have also relied on Football Impact for the most important phase of the Europa League, performing 3 stages.
In yesterday’s game, our friends of Molde FK faced our friends from Granada CF. 2-0 for the Andalusians, with goals by the veterans Jorge Molina and Roberto Soldado.

Kjetil Knutsen’s men have performed some matches, against Marbella FC and Real Balompédica Linense among others.
The team planned to finish its stage on the 14th, to return home and prepare for the next start of the Eliteserien, in which they will debut on April 5th.
But finally, the Scandinavians have decided to extend their work with Football Impact. The Dama de Noche facilities will continue to be their training ground and they will coincide with the FK Molde, which will arrive on the 13th.
Just two days later, the Norwegians will begin their third stage with Football Impact, this time on the Costa del Sol.
Molde FK, current runner-up in the Norwegian first division (Eliteserien), today left the gathering in Benidorm. This is the second stage of the Scandinavians with Football Impact this year at the Meliá Villaitana Football Center.
The team will face Granada CF in the round of 16 of the Europa League on Thursday, March 11th. It is an interesting duel between two of our friends.
