The proceeds from ticket sales for the match between Borussia Dortmund and Feyenoord Rotterdam, played last Saturday at the Marbella Football Center, will go to the charity “Superheroes, un niño una sonrisa”. At half-time of this spectacular match, the manager and owner of Football Impact, Andrés Roldán, handed over a cheque for 4,000 euros to a representative of this organisation who was none other than the famous Spiderman. Football Impact thus not only shows its commitment to sport, but also to the good cause.
The main mission of the association “SuperHeroes, un niño una sonrisa” is to provide joy and well-being to children who are sick anywhere in Spain to make this situation easier to bear, both in hospitals, centers and shelters. The association also aims to improve the quality of life of children and adolescents affected by cancer and their families through care, support, and psychosocial, educational and leisure accompaniment.
After two days of intensive training at its Football Impact training camp in Marbella, a first test under competitive conditions was on the agenda for VfB Stuttgart on Monday afternoon. The German second division club with their new trainer Pellegrino Matarazzo competed on the training pitches of La Quinta against FC Basel, who have been in Marbella since January 6th.
After a first half with few chances to score on both sides, the red team started well in the second half of the match. After a nice pass from Philipp Förster, Nicolas Gonzalez scored from the left half with a shot into the top corner of the goal that gave the Stuttgart boys the lead. Just two minutes later, Orel Mangala started another successful attack from the right side. Roberto Massimo finally provided a pass for Hamadi Al Ghaddioui, who only had to push the ball over the line from close range. In the 69th minute, Fabian Bredlow made a good save after Valentin Stocker had taken advantage of an error by the VfB defence to shoot into the goal.
While the Swiss will return home next Thursday, VfB Stuttgart will stay in Marbella until January 19th and play another friendly game in La Quinta the day before its return.
One day before their return to Germany from its stage with Football Impact in Marbella, Borussia Dortmund played two friendly matches on Saturday in front of a large audience. At 12 o’clock they played against the Dutch team Feyenoord Rotterdam, and in the afternoon at 5 o’clock the rival was FSV Mainz 05 of the Bundesliga.
After a clear 4-2 victory over Feyenoord made possible by goals from Guerreiro (2), Reyna and Führich, Borussia Dortmund suffered a defeat in their second friendly match. The black and yellow team lost 2-0 to the team from Mainz 05, which has chosen the neighbouring city of Estepona for its winter pre-season this year.
Newcomer Erling Haaland was replaced in the second half and made his debut with Borussia Dortmund in Marbella. More than 80 journalists and photographers were accredited for this football show, which the fans used to take pictures with the stars.
The Swiss club FC Basel won its first friendly match against Fortuna Düsseldorf 3-2 (2-2) today at the Marbella Football Center. Samuele Campo, Silvan Widmer and Valentin Stocker scored the goals against the Bundesliga team.
FCB needed tits time to find itsway into its first friendly match of the new year. The first 20 minutes were clearly for Fortuna Düsseldorf, who had already played a friendly match against FC Twente in Marbella (1-1). This was not only reflected in Bernard Tekpetey’s header in the 9th minute, but also in other occasions for the Germans.
In the 25th minute, a free kick by Samuele Campo was also deflected and reached the goal. However, this sense of achievement seemed to inspire the Red-and-Whites and, as a result, FC Basel players were able to get into the game more easily. They even took the lead in the 36th minute, when Silvan Widmer scored a header corner from Campo. Unfortunately FCB were unable to take this lead at half-time, shortly before the break Erik Thommy scored for Düsseldorf.
The second half showed a different side, as did most winter friendly matches. Both teams changed completely. Valentin Stocker scored the only goal after wonderful preparatory work by Edon Zhegrova. Otherwise, FCB was the most active and best team in the second half and deservedly won the first of its three test matches at the training camp. Despite the fact that FCB-Goalie Djordje Nikolic had to face a big save just seconds before the final whistle to secure the victory once and for all.
The team from Basel will continue on Monday, January 13th with a test match against VfB Stuttgart. Fortuna Düsseldorf will now bid farewell to its stage with Football Impact in Marbella.
One day before returning home, TSG Hoffenheim lost its second friendly match against ADO Den Haag with a 2-1 result. Both teams, brought by Football Impact to Marbella, faced each other on the pitch of La Quinta. After Jürgen Locadia scored the first goal for Hoffenheim in the first half, the Dutch from The Hague drew 1-1 with a penalty from Thomas Necid.
When Summerville scored the decisive goal for Den Haag in the 89th minute, many of the spectators thought of the match the day before, when TSG lost 3-2 to Rotterdam by a Dutch goal in the penultimate minute.
Both teams will say goodbye to the Costa del Sol tomorrow. While ADO Den Haag has carried out its stage with Football Impact in Alhaurín El Grande, TSG Hoffenheim opened its first winter stage in Spain in Marbella.

The Dutch team of the Eredivisie, is in Estepona since last January 4th, where it will remain for a total of 8 days. During that time the “tricolor” will work out in the training camps of Atalaya (Estepona).
Last season, the team was left out of opting for European positions for one single point. A bad run of results in the last 3 games put them away from the Europe League.
The Dutchman Adrie Koster does not want his team to suffer from the same problems this year and hopes that this Winter Break 2020 will help them continue the good moment they are currently living.
The team ranks in fourth place, just one point away from the only direct access to the Europe League. But if the team continues in the good moment they are living, they will surely be able to fight for even higher goals.
In just 9 days, next January 18th, our friends will return to the top competition in the Netherlands. They will do so against SV Zulte Waregem, which is also working with Football Impact right now.

This season things are not working as well as last campaign. Even so, the German Hannes Wolf team does not give up and hopes to overcome this situation throughout 2020.
Currently the team is eighth, tied to almost everything with another friend of Football Impact, SV Zulte Waregem, and just three points to access the Championship Group.
We are convinced that a first level Winter Break will help the team to climb positions and getting a position for the championship group before the end of the regular season.
The Belgian SV Zulte Waregem has been training at the Marbella Football Center facilities since last January 6th. The “essevee”, as they are nicknamed, will work out in the high performance center until the next day 13th, with a total 8 days stage.
During the team’s stay on the Costa del Sol, Francky Dury’s men will put all their senses into a Winter Break that will help them climb positions in the Jupiler Pro League.
Currently the team from West Flanders is in seventh position, just one place and 3 points from the positions that give access to the struggle for the championship.
The SV Zulte Waregem will return to the official competition on January 19th, when a friend of Football Impact, the KRC Genk, will face them. And only 3 days later they will do the same, facing Club Brugge KV , in the semifinals of the Belgian Cup.
In Marbella Football Center we trust our friends and know their professionalism, so we are convinced that after this Winter Break, the team will return stronger.
Late defeat in the first test match for TSG Hoffenheim, which since January 3rd is carrying out its winter stage with Football Impact in Marbella. The Bundesliga team lost today at the Marbella Football Center 2:3 (1:0) against the great Dutch team Feyenoord from Rotterdam, which is also in town to get ready for the second round of the season.
Christoph Baumgartner and Sebastian Rudy put TSG in the lead, but Luciano Narsingh with 2 goals and Jens Toornstra with the decisive goal in the penultimate minute of the match ensured Rotterdam’s victory at the last minute.
TSG Hoffenheim has its second friendly match against ADO Den Haag tomorrow at 3.30pm on the fields of La Quinta, while Feyenoord Rotterdam will play next Saturday against Borussia Dortmund.
