Today we remember Wolverhampton Wanderers FC. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men came to the Costa del Sol to work with Football Impact for the second time in a short time.
The West Midlands team is a regular customer of Football Impact and Marbella Football Center. In recent months they have visited us twice, as a complement to a good physical preparation.
The last time they did it before an important Europa League match, carrying out a half-week stage. The team took advantage of the fantastic Mediterranean climate and the excellent facilities that Football Impact offers its clients.
The team knows the facilities very well, as they have trained at both the Marbella Football Center and La Quinta Football Pitches. In La Quinta they recorded this video that they shared on their social networks.
Today we remember the passage through MFC of the manager and former player Albert Celades. He visited us as part of the entourage of the Spanish Under-17 team, which went to MFC to participate in the Friendly Match Week U17-Costa del Sol 2018.
This event was held in February 2018 and had the participation of Spain, France, Scotland, Poland and Belgium. It is an appointment that is repeated annually and to which many top-level teams are used to come to prepare for the championships.
As a player, Celades played for FC Barcelona, Celta de Vigo, Real Madrid, Girondins de Bordeaux, Zaragaoza and NY Red Bull. During this time he won 1 Champions League with Real Madrid, 4 Spanish leagues (2 with Madrid and 2 with Barça) and 2 cups with Barça.
As a coach, he began his career always linked to the Spanish National Team. 40 games among U-16, U-17 and U-21. Then he was Fernando Hierro’s assistant in the 2018 World Cup with the absolute team.
In 2019 Celades begins to manage his first club, taking over Valencia CF, currently being the manager of the team.
Today we remember another of the great coaches who have passed through Marbella Football Center. This is the Argentine Mauricio Andrés Pellegrino Luna, who visited us in February 2018 with Southampton FC.
Pellegrino started as a player at Vélez Sarsfield, from where he was loaned for a year to FC Barcelona. Later he would be transferred to Valencia CF, where he played most of his career in Europe. Liverpool and Alavés complete his list of clubs as a player, ending his careers in 2006.
Valencia would be his first club as head coach, after being assistant manager at Liverpool FC and Inter. After his experience in the Valencia, he returns to Argentina, where he coaches Estudiantes and Independiente, until he returned to Europe in 2016.
Alavés, Southampton and Leganés will complete his curriculum. More than 250 games as a manager for him, who spoke here after visiting us:
“It is our first time here and I am very surprised of the quality of the facilities. We have a great team with us and it is not easy to find good facilities with a very good hotel nearby. ”
Today we remember our friends from AD Alcorcón. The team from Madrid team us for the first time in the summer of 2018 and repeated in 2019.
“The potters” were promoted to the second division in 2010. Since then they have carried out very good campaigns, being very close to achieving promotion to the first division. In 2012 they were fourth with Anquela and in 2013 fifth with Bordalás.
Coinciding with its tenth season in the silver category of Spanish football, the team was battling for promotion positions again this year.

Mr. Fran Fernández had the team just 5 points from the promotion zone. The team was fighting for everything, but the situation with COVID-19 has left us in a situation of uncertainty.
This summer we would like to see AD Alcorcón again at MFC (as in 2018 and 2019) to try the promotion again.
Yesterday Radomir Antic left us, a Serbian manager who has coached the 3 greats of Spanish football: Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid. At 71, he has died after a long fight against pancreatitis.
With a house in Marbella, he used to come to visit the facilities of Marbella Football Center. Something that always pleased both the company staff and the spectators who enjoyed a soccer day. He treated them all cordially.
During his successful career as a player he played in Serbia, Turkey, Spain and England. He won the Serbian and Turkish national championships in 75 and 77.
But where he stood out the most was on the bench. He got the double with Atlético in 96 after 19 years of drought, quite a feat. He also coached Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Serbia, his country of origin.
A whole career full of successes and people who appreciated it. In his last years he made a foothold in the world of radio, where he was well loved and gave his vision as a successful technician.
At Marbella Football Center and Football Impact we are saddened by this loss and we want to offer condolences to his relatives. We will not forget you Radomir.

We continue with our series of publications on the facilities managed by Football Impact. Today we are talking about one of the most rated training camps for its hermeticism and for being in an idyllic location, La Quinta Football Fields (Marbella).
Just 2 kilometers from Marbella Football Center, La Quinta Football Fields by Football Impact offers a very high standard of quality in its facilities.
1 football 11 field, another football 7 one and a first class gym. These are some of the main characteristics of this training camp, which was opened in 2018 by Rubin Kazan.
Although many teams also highlight the feeling of training in the middle of nature and the isolation from the noise of the media and the fans. The proximity to the Westin La Quinta Hotel also favors transportation, which can be done on foot or by bicycle if desired.
Teams like Manchester United, Wolverhampton Wanderers or TSG Hoffenheim visited it in the past months of January and February.
