Marbella hosts the ‘Friendly Match Week’ with the participation of the international teams under 17 from Belgium, England, Russia and Ukraine
Marbella will host the ‘Friendly Match Week’ with the participation of the international teams under 17 from Belgium, England, Russia and Ukraine. The event has been presented today with the assistance of the Councillor for Sports, Manuel Cardeña, who has mentioned that “once again, it is a pride that we are the capital, through Football Impact, of grassroots football teams”. In addition, he has pointed out that “sport is going to be the element that will break the seasonality in the city in the next years”. In this sense, he stressed that the participants in this event “will not only get to know Marbella, but will recommend it as the best location for training and preparation for future competitions”.
There will be a total of five friendly matches starting at 16.00 this afternoon at the Antonio Lorenzo Cuevas Municipal Stadium with England and Ukraine. On the other hand, on Saturday 8th February, the England-Russia match will be played at 16.00 at Marbella Football Center and, at the same time, the Belgium-Ukraine match at Dama de Noche. Subsequently, on Monday 10th February, friendly matches will be played between Ukraine and England at the Antonio Lorenzo Cuevas Municipal Stadium, as well as between Russia and Belgium at Marbella Football Center, at the same time as the previous matches.
“Friendly matches are important for young talent to gain experience and prepare for international championships,” according to Andrés Roldán, director of Football Impact, who has stressed the importance of Marbella being the epicentre of this event.
